Ragetti: [off-screen] What, with a long "a"?
Pintel: Uh-huh.
Ragetti: Nuh-nuh-nuh-nuh. "Krock-en"'s how it's pronounced in the original Scandinavian, [Elizabeth and Norrington exchange looks] and "Krack-en"'s closer to that.
Pintel: Well, we ain't original Scandinavians, are we? "Kray-ken."
Ragetti: It's a mythological creature, I can calls it what I wants!
[Jack grips his jar of dirt tightly. Cuts to him throwing his coat into the longboat, picks up a shovel.]
Jack: Guard the boat, mind the tide. Don't touch my dirt. [walks away with a nauseous look on his face]
Ragetti: [taps Pintel on the shoulder] You were wrong about to-may-to, if I recall.
Pintel: I like to-mah-toes.
[Ragetti merely smiles slightly and nods]
[Familiar wide shot of Norrington, Jack, and Elizabeth crossing through shallow waters of Isla Cruces. Jack goes on ahead while Elizabeth and Norrington stop. Elizabeth glances at the
Norrington: I didn't expect anybody to be here.
Elizabeth: [looks around, then spies the ruined church in the distance] There's not.
Norrington: You know this place?
Elizabeth: [sighs] Stories. Isla Cruces. The Church came to the island and brought salvation...and disease...and death. They say that the priest had to bury everybody, one by one. He went mad and hung himself.
Norrington: Better mad with the rest of the world than sane alone.
[Elizabeth gives him a look. Norrington glances back. Jack approaches them.]
Jack: No fraternizing with the help, love.
[He extends his arm. Elizabeth goes on. Still has his arm out.]
Norrington: Oh, after YOU, sir. [swings his arm]
[Jack doesn't comply, puts down his arm and offers the shovel from his other arm. Norrington grabs it and glares at Jack, who just smiles sneakily.]
