Beckett: [as he approaches the table] If you intend to claim these, then you must have something to trade. Do you have the
?Norrington: ...Better. [produces the bag containing Davy Jones' heart and it plunks onto the desk.] The heart of Davy Jones.
[Beckett takes a closer look at it as flies surround it. He takes a deep breath with his nose. Stands up, opens the bag. Norrington crosses his arms.]
Beckett: [still looking inside] It's remarkable.
Norrington: [off-screen] I take it I've won commission as a privateer?
Beckett: [very evil sly-ish look, moves away from chair] Oh...I think...better.
[Shot of Beckett opening the sword's case, walks away from it, Norrington peers at it in place of him]
Beckett: Reinstatement of your former rank and status, all rights and priviliges attendant. [looks out the balcony, then faces Norrington, who swipes out the sword] ...And I think a promotion is due as well. Do you agree...Admiral Norrington?
[Norrington gazes at his scraggly reflection in the blade, then flips it over his wrist, swordpoint at the heart.]
Norrington: Give the order, sir.
Beckett: [holding out arm] No, no, no, no, [Norrington looks back at him] that'll be terribly imprudent. Where's the profit in killing Jones when instead you can add another ship to your fleet? [throws open the balcony's doors, where outside everyone is staring at the Flying Dutchman as it rises out of the depths.] The Flying Dutchman. [Mercer and Norrington join him; to Norrington] Whoever controls the heart of Davy Jones...controls the sea.
[Shot of the crew in a line, Davy Jones in the middle. He removes his hat in salute, sneers slightly. Back at the office, the cartographer approaches the trio.]
Cartographer: The map is finished, sir.
[They turn around, Beckett goes on forward to the mural.]
Beckett: ...Just the way I imagined it.
